An American man, known as "The Child Porn King" among pedophiles, has been arrested for the production and distribution of child pornography in the largest seizure of illicit digital content in history.

David Timothy Deakin was taken into custody following a raid at his home where is suspected of torturing and raping children and using webcams to create videos, images and live streams to sell to global pedophile rings.

Authorities seized 30 hard drives and numerous computers during the raids where they hope to find information on buyers and victims to enable them to make further arrests and possible rescues.

The 53-year-old suspect originally from Peoria, Illinois, has lived in the Philippines for the last 17 years from where he has been abusing Filipino children and providing pedophilia networks around the world with vile content.

A video of Deakin's arrest shows disturbing images of children's underwear, handcuffs and fetish gear scattered around his two-bedroom townhouse.

Daily Mail reports: One photo shows food wrappers, cigarette butts, plastic cups and perfume spread across the workspace of the world's largest child cybersex operator.

In another image, a sweaty-faced Deakin is seen waiting as investigators gather evidence during the raid on his home.

At one point, the 53-year-old alleged child abuser is seen with his hands tied behind his back with an iPhone charger.

Footage shows Deakin handcuffed, sitting on a bed where he allegedly handled online sharing of videos of children engaging in sexual acts.

Investigators also allegedly found a pipe which can be used for smoking methamphetamine, or ice.

Deakin's arrest reveals one of the darkest corners of the internet, where pedophiles in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia pay facilitators on the other side of the world to sexually abuse children.

Authorities are reviewing about 30 hard drives, as well as numerous computers, to find suspected buyers and victims.

In his computer files, videos and images of children engaged in sex acts were allegedly found.

Deakin has been charged with cybercrime, child pornography, child abuse and child trafficking.

The 53-year-old suspect, originally from Peoria, Illinois, has been in the Philippines since 2000.

Webcam child abuse is increasing rapidly in the Philippines, with a growing pool of pedophile buyers around the world.
